Divergent Thinking: 10 Days of Creativity
For 10 days, I was tasked with doing something every day that was either out of my comfort zone or something I was not confident in. I did things like coming up with 100 unique ideas, trying to improve upon a skill I knew I would fail at, seeing if I could make more value out of 5 dollars, etc. Throughout this process, I dealt with ambiguity, coming up with new ideas that were far from standard. I pushed myself to come up with something new, to go past the ordinary and branch out. Over 10 days, I learned more about myself than I have in most of my life. I learned that there is nothing stopping me from being incredible.
After the 10 days were over, I reflected on my experience and what I had gained from it. I spoke with some friends about my new insights into just "accepting the unknown" and getting yourself out there. Although it can be uncomfortable and even scary to reach out into what you are unsure of, there are unlimited benefits that come from it. Getting past your comfort zone and going past the base level of effort helps you to learn many things about who you are and what you are capable of.
